Jour/Day 87 : Football Américain - American Football (Go Browns !)

Le dernier sport typiquement Américain que je n'avais pas encore expérimenté est le fameux Football Américain. Mais cette fois-ci, je ne suis pas allée voir un match, je suis allée en regarder un dans un bar.

En effet, les deux derniers dimanches, je suis allée supporter les Browns de Cleveland avec des amis. Cleveland ? Oui, vous avez bien lu !

Pour la petite histoire, une de mes profs est originaire de cette ville et est totalement fan de leur équipe de football Américain, du coup, elle essait de nous convertir à l'esprit Ohio (l'état où se trouve Cleveland) et je dois dire qu'elle a plutôt réussi !

The last typical American sport that I haven't experienced was the American Football. Now, it's done ! But this time, I didn't go to a real game, but I have watched one in a bar.

Indeed, the last 2 Sundays, I supported the Cleveland Browns with friends. Cleveland ? Yes, it's what I said !

Just to explain, one of my teacher comes from this city and is totally crazy about their American Football team, so she tries to convert us to the Ohio spirit, and I think she's succeed !

Go Browns !!!!

Nous nous sommes donnés rendez-vous dans un bar qui est un petit bout de Cleveland  dans Boston : Le North Bar. Tous les expatriés de l'Ohio se retrouve ici pour partager ensemble des grands moments de sports ! Et surtout cette année, car l'équipe des Browns  était plutôt mauvaise depuis quelques années, mais cette année est plutôt forte.

Alors autant dire qu'au début, je ne comprenais absolument rien aux règles malgré les explications de Carlos, Santiago et Janet (mon adorable prof), mais après avoir vu plusieurs match, je commence à capter le fonctionnement ! Mais pas encore assez pour vous l'expliquer ;-) L'objectif, en gros, c'est de marquer un touchdown qui vaut 6 points, et 7 points si il est transformé.

We got together in a bar which is a small piece of Cleveland in Boston : The North Bar. All the Ohio natives come there to share great moments of sport ! And especially this year, because the Browns who were quite bad the last years are pretty good now.

It's true that at the beginning, I didn't understand anything despite the explanations of Carlos, Santiago and Janet (my lovely teacher), but after having seen some games, I can understand better ! But not enough to explain the rules to you ;-) Roughly, the objective is to score a touchdown which worth 6 points and 7 if they kick it.

Je me suis donc convertie à l'esprit de Cleveland en supportant les Browns dimanche dernier et aujourd'hui, et on a passé un super moment. Surtout aujourd'hui, où l'ambiance était électrique !! De la tension jusqu'au bout, car alors qu'il ne restait que 5 secondes de jeu et que les Browns étaient menés d'un seul point, ils ont  réussi à faire quelque chose (je ne sais pas exactement quoi, je sais juste qu'un joueur a shouté dans la balle ;-) ) qui leur a permis de gagner 3 points et donc de remporter le match ! Je vous laisse admirer l'explosion de joie dans le bar ;-) (la fille super excitée c'est ma prof : elle est top !) Et j'en profite pour remercier Ahmed pour cette vidéo.

So I converted myself to the Cleveland spirit by supporting the Browns last Sunday and today, and we had a great time !! Especially today because the atmosphere was amazing ! Pressure until the end... Indeed, there were only 5 seconds left and the Brows were loosing because of only 1 point, but the team succeeded to do something (I don't exactly know what, I just know that one player kicked the ball ;-) ) and they finally won the game !! I let you see how much everybody was happy (the excited girl on the video is my teacher : she's awesome !) And, by the way, thank you to Ahmed for the video, again ;-)
